Based on community recommendations from Kaskasan Buddies, these are the cards and banks commonly recommended for travel use. Please still check your own bank's fees, limits, and travel advisories before leaving.
Debit Cards / Withdrawal Options
- โMaribank โ top recommended
- โGCash
- โGoTyme
Best used for withdrawals or debit transactions, depending on your account and fees.
Credit Cards / Forex Fee Options
- โBPI
- โMetrobank
- โEastWest
- โAny travel credit card with good foreign exchange fees
Always choose KRW / Korean Won when paying by card.
When the terminal asks whether to pay in PHP or KRW, choose KRW. This usually avoids dynamic currency conversion and may give you a better exchange rate through your bank or card provider.
โ ๏ธ Avoid choosing PHP on foreign card terminals unless you intentionally want the merchant's conversion rate.

Traveling with Babies & Kids
Essential packing and travel tips for families with little ones.
Quick reminder: Please still check your airline's baggage rules and airport security guidelines before flying, especially for milk, formula, baby liquids, strollers, and baby gear.
Milk, Formula & Feeding
- โBuy milk storage pouches for easier and lighter hand-carry packing. Less bulky than containers and easier to organize.
- โPut the full milk powder container in checked baggage if you don't need it during the flight.
- โIf the container is already open, place it inside a ziplock bag and tape/seal it properly to avoid spills.
- โFor hand carry, pack only the milk/formula you need for airport waiting, flight duration, possible delays, and first few hours after arrival.
- โIf your baby is sensitive to a specific brand, bring enough for the whole trip โ brands and availability may differ abroad.
- โKeep all baby feeding items together in one pouch: bottles, nipples, formula, bibs, burp cloths, bottle wipes, and ziplock bags for dirty items.
Bottle Steamer / Warmer
- โAimee will personally bring a bottle steamer and warmer.
- โPlease let her know if you plan to use it so you don't need to bring your own.
- โThis helps everyone keep checked baggage lighter and avoids bringing duplicate bulky items.
Diapers & Wipes
- โBring around 2 days' worth of diapers only, especially if your baby is not sensitive to specific brands.
- โFor a 6-day stay, buy the rest locally in South Korea instead of packing a large supply.
- โLotte Mart is one of the best options for diapers, wipes, baby snacks, toiletries, and bottled water.
- โYou can also check E-Mart, Homeplus, pharmacies, convenience stores, or department store baby sections.
- โIf your baby has sensitive skin or only uses one specific brand, bring more from home just to be safe.
- โTip: Take a photo of your baby's current diaper brand and size so it's easier to compare in Korea. Sizes may be listed by baby weight in kg.
